My professional career as a Fine Artist began in my native country of the Netherlands with a formal art education at the Academies of Fine Art in Tilburg and Amsterdam. I moved to California in 1980 and have lived here since.

My artwork has been featured in many solo-and group exhibitions. My work is in numerous collections, private and public, here in the US. and in Europe.

Over the years I have worked in different styles and mediums but my passion is painting portraits in oil on canvas. The command of technique and eye for detail and sense of subtle nuances in my portraits is often compared to the tradition of Dutch Masters.

In painting a portrait I go beyond the resemblance and let the soul and unique character shine through, and make the portrayed individual "come alive".

The final result always has been exceeding the expectations of the client.
